Manchester City have unveiled a brand new 10-year contractual agreement with superstar striker Erling Haaland running until the summer of 2034.

It is the ultimate reward and show of faith from the Premier League champions in the 24-year-old, who has scored a staggering 111 goals in just 125 games since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in the summer market of 2022.

In that team, Erling Haaland has won the Premier League title in both seasons, whilst also playing an integral role in their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy and the FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup titles built around that success.

The Norway international striker will be aged almost 34 when his new Manchester City contract expires, showing his commitment to a club he has supported since birth through his affiliation via his father, Alfie who also played for the club.

The Norwegian scored 52 goals in his debut season at the club en route to a historic Treble, and was named PFA Player of the Year and Footballer of the Year in the process, with a further 38 goals in all competitions last year to retain the Premier League’s Golden Boot.

Speaking exclusively to ManCity.com upon signing his blockbuster new agreement, Haaland spoke of his love for the Etihad Stadium club and his belief that he is now “City no matter what” and that the environment is the best place for him to develop his game even further.

“Manchester City is a special Club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody,” Erling Haaland reacted to his new contract.

He continued, “I also want to thank Pep (Guardiola), his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the Club as they have all helped me so much in the past couple of years. They have made this such a special place to be and now I am City no matter what.

“I want to keep developing, keep working to get better and look to do my best to try and help us achieve more success going forward.”

Erling Haaland’s previous deal with Manchester City, signed upon his arrival from Bundesliga football in the summer of 2022, which reportedly included a release clause, had been due to expire in the summer of 2027.

Manchester City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain – who will be leaving the club at the end of the ongoing season – admitted his own delight at the agreement with Haaland, emphasising how it shows the player’s love for the club he is at.

“Everyone at the Club is absolutely delighted that Erling has signed his new contract,” said the 60-year-old Manchester City official. “The fact he is signed for so long demonstrates our commitment to him as a player, and his love of this club.”

Begiristain continued, “He has made an incredible impact already in his time here and his amazing numbers and records speak for themselves.

“But in addition to his outstanding natural talent and ability, Erling’s dedication, professionalism, humility and desire to keep getting better sum up what we all strive to achieve at Manchester City.

“He is one of the finest strikers in world football, but Erling is still very young and will only continue to improve working under Pep and his coaching team. If he works hard, which I know he will, he will create an incredible legacy at this football club.

“Now he can focus on his game and continuing to play a huge part in helping us try to achieve even more success.”

Work begins immediately for Erling Haaland under his new City contract with an away trip to Ipswich on Sunday afternoon, before attentions return to the UEFA Champions League and the final two league phase matchdays sandwiched by a top-flight home clash with Chelsea.
