A member of the loan ranks at La Liga outfit Espanyol has this week opened up on his hopes of staying put with the club beyond the summer.
The player in question? Roberto Fernández.
Frontman Fernández for his part made the move to Catalunya during the January transfer window, on a short-term loan deal from Portuguese side Braga.
And the Spaniard has since gone on to enjoy a fine start to life back in his home country.
Fernández has wasted little time in establishing himself as a key member of boss Manolo González’s attacking setup, with five La Liga starts to his name to date.
The 22-year-old has also managed to chip in with a pair of goals.
Speaking to the media on Friday, the possibility of staying put with Espanyol into next season was in turn put to Fernández himself.
And, in quotes cited by Mundo Deportivo, the striker went on to explain:
“Do I consider staying? I have always said it, I am quite comfortable both in the club and in the city. As for me, I would like to, but it is not up to me.”
