The 23-year-old contributed two goals and seven assists in his second campaign with the Welsh outfit as they finished 11th in the table.

The Brazilian joined the Swans in the 2024 January transfer window, arriving from Gremio Anapolis, and has become a key part of the first team squad.

Ronald featured in all 46 of their Championship fixtures this season, including starting on 43 occasions, but has been criticised for his inconsistent level of performances.

He did, however, impress in the latter stages of the season, establishing himself as a key player at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Hendrie believes Ronald is a player with bags of potential, and that he could become a top player in the Championship, but he highlighted concerns over his consistency.

He has claimed that Swansea need to get more talented players around him in order to get the best out of the 23-year-old.

“I’ve seen him quite a few times last season, he’s got bags of talent and potential,” Hendrie exclusively told Football League World.

“He certainly has, he has to do it on a consistent basis, that’s the problem and that’s probably where he is still learning how he can improve, what he can get better at.

“At times I’ve seen him and he’s been very good, and at times he’s drifted in and out of games.

“But, playing in that position that he does, he has to have the ball, and he’s got bags of flair and bags of potential to go forward.

“I think getting the feel for the Championship, it’s always difficult, but I always say if you have good players around you and a talented player like that, I think you feed off that.

“I think it works better for you.

Swansea have certainly taken a big dip over the past few seasons where they probably haven’t been able to invest and bring in the quality they would want to bring into the football club that could bring the best out of some of these players.

“And he’s one of them that can certainly be a big Championship player given the right service and playing with the right players.”

Swansea finished 11th in the Championship table this season, seven points adrift of a play-off place.

Next season will be important for Ronald at Swansea City

Ronald has settled well in English football, and has shown the potential to be a really exciting player at this level.

While his inconsistency is an issue, this summer could be a great chance for him to work on his game and come back stronger next year.

The transfer market will also be important, as surrounding him with greater attacking talent could also be key to unlocking his full potential.
