Barclays Women’s Championship title rivals Birmingham City and Durham will meet in the Third Round of this season’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

The Third Round draw was streamed live on the Adobe Women’s FA Cup’s official Instagram account earlier this morning. The draw was split into Northern and Southern sections.

In the Northern section, Birmingham City’s tie against Durham is arguably ‘The Tie of the Round’. The pair lead the Barclays Women’s Championship table on 19 points after nine rounds of matches. Elsewhere, Newcastle United could contest a Tyne-Tees derby with Middlesbrough if they beat Hull City while Sheffield United travel to Liverpool Feds. Blackburn Rovers travel to either Kidderminster Harriers or Stourbridge while Sunderland play host to Huddersfield Town.

In the Southern section, Southampton will play host to Barclays Women’s Championship promotion rivals Bristol City. Portsmouth, London City Lionesses and Charlton Athletic have all been given home ties against lower opposition.

The winners of the Third Round ties will join the 12 Barclays Women’s Super League clubs in the Fourth Round draw. That stage of the competition is due to take place on the weekend of 11/12 January 2025.

This season’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup final is scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 18 May 2025.
