The Spanish giants announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website earlier today.
Roebuck joins FC Barcelona upon the expiration of her contract at Manchester City. She has initially penned a two-year deal with her new club.
The keeper spent nine years with Manchester City after joining the club from Sheffield United in 2015. She won seven domestic trophies with The Cityzens. Roebuck was a member of the Manchester City squad which held all three domestic trophies between 2016 and 2017.
The 2023/2024 season was tough for Roebuck. She lost the first-choice goalkeeping jersey at Manchester City before later revealing that she has been recovering from a stroke. Roebuck will now be hoping to bounce back in Spain with FC Barcelona.
After completing her transfer, Roebuck said “I am very excited. I’d been waiting for this chance for a long time. I’m very happy to be here. You could say that now everything fits and this was the perfect time to come.
“I want to test myself and live a new experience. There’s nowhere better to do that than here, so I’m really grateful to get this opportunity.
“I like to play with the ball at my feet and this is the perfect team to do that with. I enjoy possession and playing out from the back, so I hope to contribute my style.”
Roebuck will initially link-up with former Manchester City teammates Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh at her new club.
