Robin van Persie's Feyenoord managed to edge past AZ Alkmaar with a 1-0 win, despite failing to hit the target with any of their shots.

The only goal of the match came from an own goal by Zico Buurmeester in the 32nd minute, handing Feyenoord all three points in Alkmaar and giving the new manager his fourth victory in seven games.

Feyenoord, now in third place, registered just eight attempts, none of which were on target, while Alkmaar had 13 shots, five of which were on target.

Despite their struggles going forward, their defence held firm to maintain a clean sheet, marking the first-ever Eredivisie match to be won without a shot on target since there are records.

Since replacing Brian Priske, who failed to impress as Arne Slot’s successor, van Persie has remained unbeaten in the Eredivisie, with four wins and one draw.
