Nico Paz has been one of the rising stars in Italian football this season, making a solid impression at Como ever since joining the club last summer.

A product of Real Madrid’s La Fabrica, Paz joined Como on a permanent deal last summer in order to gain more game time. Under Cesc Fabregas, the playmaker has flourished, notably being involved in 13 goals in Serie A this season.

Paz’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid considering activating a buyout clause worth just €8 million.

Nico Paz likely to return to Real Madrid

For the longest time, Como have shown the desire to keep hold of Paz at least for another season. However, that could change soon.

According to Real Madrid Confidencial, it appears Paz is likely to return to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, as Como have found an ideal replacement for the Argentine.

As per the report, the Italian outfit are targeting FC Zwolle’s Filip Krastev as the player to replace Paz once he leaves the club at the end of the season.

Real Madrid, for their part, have yet to make a conclusive decision on whether or not they would like Paz to return.

In fact, the club are not too keen on reinforcing the ranks in the attacking midfield position as it is already well covered with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Dani Ceballos.

But the ease with which the Nico Paz deal can be conducted hasn’t gone unnoticed and is something the club will likely think about in the coming summer.

For now, though, Los Blancos are more worried about securing the Copa Del Rey tonight as they take on arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the final.
