French veteran Jérémy Ménez parts ways with Paris FC | OneFootball

Former América attacker Jérémy Ménez is without a club after he was let go following just one year at French side Paris FC.

Ménez, who spent just over 18 months with Las Águilas, had joined the Ligue 2 outfit after leaving the Estadio Azteca in August 2019.

The Parisiens were in 17th position, just above the relegation zone, when the decision was made to end the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The capital club warmly thanks Jérémy for accepting this challenge,” an official Paris FC statement read.

“With four goals and four assists in the league (one goal in the Coupe de France) in 17 games, Jérémy actively participated in the team. Paris FC wishes him good luck.”

For his part, the player expressed no ill will towards PFC.

“I spoke with the President and the leaders and we agreed to stop for several reasons that are personal to us,” the former France international said in a statement published on the club’s website.

“I now wish a lot of happiness to Paris FC, and I will keep a close eye on the club. Good luck for the future!”

Ménez, who was the books at the likes of Roma, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan at the height of his career, failed to make a major impact during his time at América.

He ruptured his left ACL in August 2018, which forced him to miss all of that year’s Apertura.
