Noni Madueke has opened up on his relationship both on and off the pitch with Cole Palmer and revealed what he admires about him.

Palmer is very much the man of moment with seemingly everyone talking about him, and rightfully so given what he’s done since he joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer.

The 22-year-old has had an incredible rise to the top of the game and has 44 goal contributions since the start of last season, more than any other player in the league.

Madueke on what he admires about Palmer

Palmer has picked up where he left off last season and has made a brilliant start to the new campaign with six goals and five assists in the first seven games of the season.

The former City man was named England Player of the Year on Tuesday as he picked up yet another accolade and right now he’s currently one of the best players in the world.

Madueke knows Palmer well having played together for England under-21s and now at Chelsea and the winger has opened up on his relationship with Palmer and what he admires about him.

“Me and Cole have a great relationship off the pitch and on the pitch as well,” he said as quoted by The Evening Standard.

“So it’s always fun playing with him, I get to play with him every week. It would be fun if we can get to play with each other for England, definitely.

“Cole’s a very unique player. A type of player that doesn’t feel pressure, in the most pressurised situations. I admire that about him. He’s a great footballer. And I’m sure he’s going to produce for England, just as he does for Chelsea.”

Their relationship on the pitch has been highlighted by the fact Palmer has assisted has all four of Madueke’s goals in Premier League this season and their years of playing together certainly seems to be benefitting the Blues.

Having won the under-21 Euros together, the pair will be hoping to get on the pitch together for the senior side in the upcoming games against Greece and Finland in the Nations League.
