Ajax took a commanding lead in their Europa League qualifying tie with Bulgarian side Ludogorets, bagging four goals away from home in the first leg.
Scorers: Verdon (P) 70′ ; Kudus 16′, 18′, 50′, Brobbey 40′
While Ludogorets posed some threat on the break, it was one-way traffic in the early going.
Ajax pinned their opponent deep into their own half, and they snatched their reward through two goals in two minutes from Mohammed Kudus to take an early advantage.
Kudus appeared to open the floodgates, as Brian Brobbey stabbed home from close range to put Ajax three ahead before the break.
After the restart, the Dutch side continued to pour it on, and Kudus completed his hat-trick in style at the back-post, bagging Ajax’s fourth on the night and all but driving the final nail into Ludogorets’ coffin.
The hosts managed to pull one back from the penalty spot in the final 20 minutes, but it will likely be too-little, too-late as the two sides head to Amsterdam for the second leg next week.
