LAFC will aim to get back in the win column when they play host to Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer action this weekend.

The inconsistent start to the 2024 season has continued for the Western Conference club. Following their first game of the campaign -- a 2-1 triumph over the struggling Seattle Sounders -- LAFC have found it difficult to win consecutive matches.

In the Black and Gold's last six contests, they've managed a defeat, a victory, two straight draws, a win and then another defeat. It's fair to say LAFC have been the definition of inconsistent to begin the MLS season.

However, head coach Steve Cherundolo has stuck to his preferred 4-3-3 formation that helped him lift the 2022 Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup and has picked a similar lineup throughout the term. The only real change the former USMNT player has made is swapping out Aaron Long for new signing Maxime Chanot, who was part of the team's most recent 3-1 defeat to in-state rivals san Jose Earthquakes.

Here's how the Black and Gold could lineup against the Whitecaps.

GK: Hugo Lloris - The World Cup winning goalkeeper has kept just two clean sheets thus far behind a usually solid but now leaky LAFC defense.

RB: Ryan Hollingshead - He's all set to return to his usual right-back position after filling in on the opposite side of the backline.

CB: Jesus Murillo - Murillo anchors the center of defense once again for the Black and Gold.

CB: Maxime Chanot - The Luxembourg international makes his fourth start for the club ahead of Long in the pecking order.

LB: Omar Campos - Campos gets a chance to prove his worth with his first start since March 16.

CM: Tim Tillman - The 25-year-old has enjoyed a solid season and has been one of LAFC's best players thus far.

CM: Ilie Sanchez - He leads the midfield into battle once again and remains one of the team's more consistent performers.

CM: Eduard Atuesta - Back in his second spell at the club, Atuesta has also been of the few LAFC players that's put in shifts just about every week.

RW: Cristian Olivera - Olivera hopes to build on his goal scored against San Jose to help secure his place in the XI.

ST: Mateusz Bogusz - Cherundolo could opt for Tomas Angel or Kei Kamara up front but neither yet have the same chemistry with Bouanga and Oliver that Bogusz does.

LW: Denis Bouanga - The Gabon international has his sights set on a second consecutive Golden Boot triumph but faces stiff competition in retaining his crown.
