FC Barcelona manage to get yet another comfortable victory in La Liga. This time around, La Blaugrana have managed to secure an important win in the Catalan derby against Girona. Thanks to this win, Barcelona now go three points clear at the top of the table.

With a brace from Robert Lewandowski, as well as a goal from Ferran Torres and an own goal from Girona, Barcelona win this game 4-1 at the Montjuic Stadium. Not exactly the most beautiful display from either side, especially early on in the game, but a crucial and dominant win for Barcelona nonetheless.

Here are the player ratings for Hansi Flick’s team.

Player Ratings:

Wojciech Szczesny: 6.5

Yet another comfortable outing for Wojciech Szczesny, who did not have to do much in this game. Moreover, he could not have done much for the goal that he did end up conceding. His ball-playing was solid as well in this game.

Jules Kounde: 6.5

Not exactly the best game from the Frenchman, but one in which he was still a useful asset. Always helping out in attack and also tracking back to help out defensively, Jules Kounde had a relatively solid outing.

Ronald Araujo: 7.5

Great in terms of his pressure and tackling, Ronald Araujo had a solid outing for Barcelona. However, his ball-playing was certainly not perfect at all times and he could have done better in terms of playing the offside trap as well.

Inigo Martinez: 7.5

Almost perfect with his ball distribution and his awareness on the pitch, the Spanish veteran was a real wall to get through. Ultimately, he helped Barcelona keep Girona at bay for most of the game quite comfortably.

Gerard Martin: 7.0

Apart from the assist that he managed to give Ferran Torres, Gerard Martin felt restricted almost the entire game. While he was defensively solid, he really lacked in terms of creating much whenever he ventured forward.

Eric Garcia: 8.0

Always eager to win back the ball for Barcelona, Eric Garcia was a great asset for the team whenever it came to winning 50/50 balls. Especially in the midfield, the Spaniard was always there with intensity to help the team out.

Pedri: 8.5

Yet another brilliant display from Pedri sees him outshine everyone on the pitch. The Spanish midfielder always seemed to be two steps ahead of everyone around him, and Girona could do nothing but shove and try to push him around and come away with nothing even then. Simply unreal.

Lamine Yamal: 8.0

A menace for Girona to deal with thanks to his elite dribbling, Lamine Yamal continuously created problems for Girona. It was thanks to some of his decisions in the centre of the pitch as well that allowed Barcelona to open up Girona’s structure. Also managed to get Barcelona their first goal of the game through his free-kick that got deflected.

Gavi: 7.5

Decent performance from the Spaniard, who was good creatively but was even better in terms of competing for duels. Thanks to his presence, Barcelona were able to win back possession on several occasions and stay in control.

Fermin Lopez: 7.5

Energetic from start to finish during the game while he was on the pitch, Fermin Lopez looked sharp in an otherwise lethargic team around him. He even managed to grab an assist for the goal scored by Robert Lewandowski.

Robert Lewandowski: 9.0

Clinical and a major threat in front of the Girona goal, today was a great outing for Robert Lewandowski. The Polish ace, even apart from his brilliance brace in this game, constantly thwarted the opposition with his attempts.

Substitutes:

Ferran Torres: 8.0

The redemption of Ferran Torres continues, as the Spanish forward yet again grabs a goal as a substitute. His ability to make an impact off the bench remains a true secret weapon for Hansi Flick whenever he needs it.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.5

A brilliant introduction in the second half, Frenkie de Jong completely changed the game for Barcelona. Girona simply could not understand what to do with him and it enabled the Dutchman to expose them in both direct duels and in terms of his positioning, allowing Barça to score more and he even managed to grab an assist.

Alejandro Balde: 6.5

Used his speed well and got into some dangerous positions, but his decision-making was rather frustrating today.

Pau Cubarsi: 6.5

Played well after coming on and dispatched some clever passes to his teammates as well.
