Under Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain are bringing players ready to compete for minutes. No one is guaranteed minutes as a starter, which is what led to the permanent departure of Xavi Simons.

Despite this philosophy, eventually, there will be players like Simons who feel that they want to be regular starters. As a result, there will be other top clubs looking to lure them away with the promise of guaranteed minutes or a more prominent role in their project.

Anfield Watch reported Liverpool are prepared to spend whatever it takes to sign a record-breaking midfielder in Zaire-Emery. The Reds are expected to see a flurry of departures in attack, which could include the likes of Diogo Jota.

The report says Liverpool are monitoring the French midfielder, who signed a contract through 2029 last season. However, the club has been in touch with his agent, Jorge Mendes, and there’s a belief within the recruitment team that they can convince him to make a move.

Liverpool’s recruitment team, including Michael Edwards and Julian Ward, has a strong relationship with Mendes, which could help them seal the deal.

Anfield Watch also reports that Zaire-Emery is happy in Paris, where his girlfriend, Oceane Toussaint, plays as a goalkeeper for PSG’s women’s team.

That said, he’s open to a new challenge and stepping out of his comfort zone. The idea of joining Liverpool is an exciting prospect for the young midfielder. As for how much the Frenchman could cost, Transfermarkt puts the player’s transfer value at €60 million.
