Lyon interested in Reims’ left-back Ghislain Konan

As reported by Foot Mercato, Lyon are looking at signing Reims soon to be out of contract defender Ghislain Konan this summer.

With left-back options limited ahead of next season and no European football assured, the 29-year-old Ivory Coast international Konan is popular with OL’s recruitment department.

Chelsea loanee Emerson Palmieri is expected to leave due to prohibitive wages, his understudy Henrique isn’t considered to be a potential starter while Youssouf Koné has failed to impress at Troyes on loan. As a result, the experience and reliable Konan is seen as a solid and cheap option for next season.

Fenerbahçe were also keen on the player at the start of the year and could yet be strong competition for OL.
