Lyon Women boss Joe Montemurro is reportedly set to leave the French giants and become head coach of the Australia Women's national team.
Montemurro joined Lyon last summer as a replacement for Sonia Bompastor following her switch to Chelsea.
But after just one season, L'Equipe say that the Melbourne-born tactician will be heading home to take charge of the Matildas this summer.
Montemurro began his coaching career with Sunshine George Cross in his hometown before moving to Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City Womens' sides.
He went on to win the Women's Super League as coach of Arsenal, and the Serie A title during his time at Juventus, prior to his switch to Lyon in June 2024.
Lyon recently lost to Arsenal in the Women's Champions League semi-final but can wrap up the French title this weekend before Montemurro goes Down Under.
