Manchester United’s season is on the line this week.

Indeed, United drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad in the first-leg of their Europa League last-16 clash last week and host the Spanish side at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The tie is finely poised and victory could hand Ruben Amorim a much-needed boost, with European glory the only remaining avenue of success for the club this season.

United drew 1-1 with Arsenal on Sunday to prepare for the game, improving in the second-half to raise at least some confidence heading into Thursday’s showdown.

Amorim, however, is without a raft of key first-team players.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Manchester United injuries.

Leny Yoro came off at half-time during the Arsenal game and was replaced by young Ayden Heaven.

After the game, Amorim said: “Leny, he has something in his foot. We’ll see if he’s available on Thursday.”

Potential return date: Unknown

Manuel Ugarte

The news regarding Manuel Ugarte looks more promising.

Ugarte missed the first leg of the Sociedad game but Amorim revealed the midfielder could “maybe” return for the home fixture later this week.

Potential return date: Thursday 13 March 2025 vs Real Sociedad

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire’s experience would no doubt be useful against the Spanish side but United may have to do without him.

The England international also missed the first Sociedad game and Amorim revealed United have to be “careful” with Maguire’s return from injury when speaking before the Arsenal game.

Potential return date: Unknown

Amad Diallo

Amad had been expected to miss the rest of the season after damaging ankle ligaments in training last month.

However, in his pre-match press conference before the Gunners clash, Amorim hinted Amad could potentially feature before the end of the campaign.

“I don't want to say nothing, but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season. We'll see,” he said.

Kobbie Mainoo

While Kobbie Mainoo isn’t expected back in the immediate future, there could be a chance he features before the end of the season.

Amorim confirmed Mainoo could “return” this season, albeit he gave no clearer update than that.

Potential return date: Unknown

Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw’s injury-plagued few seasons have continued.

Like Mainoo, Amorim has hinted Shaw “can return” before the end of the season but his return date is unclear.

Potential return date: Unknown

Mason Mount

Mason Mount is in a similar boat. The England international injured his hamstring against Manchester City in December and has not been seen since.

The United boss suggested Mount “can return” before the season is out, though exactly when is not yet known.

Altay Bayindir

Back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has missed the last few games due to an unspecified knock. Amorim claimed back in February the stopper was making a “recovery” but there has since been no official update.

Potential return date: Unknown

Tom Heaton

Veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton is also unavailable, although he was never likely to get much in the way of first-team minutes anyway.

Like Bayindir, there hasn’t been an update on Heaton in a while.

Potential return date: Unknown

Jonny Evans

Jonny Evans could be a useful option for Amorim but hasn’t played since suffering a back injury in December.

Just like some of his teammates, his return date is not yet known.

Potential return date: Unknown

Lisandro Martinez

Such is the severity of the injury, the Argentina international is not expected back for months.
