Real Madrid secure their 5th title of the year following a comfortable victory against Pachuca.
Goals from the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius and Rodrygo capped off a successful night for the Los Blancos.
Here is how the Real Madrid players fared against Pachuca.
Player ratings:
Thibaut Courtois: 7.5
A commendable job in goal from the Belgian. Was forced into action more than he would have liked but was always up to the mark and ended up keeping a well deserved clean sheet.
Lucas Vazquez: 6.5
A sigh of relief for the Spaniard who was not tested much by the Pachuca winger. Made overlapping runs and ultimately earned a penalty which led to the third goal of the night.
Aurelien Tchouaméni: 7.0
Good game for the Frenchman after some time. Looked solid under pressure and accompanied Antonio Rüdiger well at the back. Did well against the experienced Salomon Rondon.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7.0
Rock solid. Formed a dominant partnership as centre-backs with Tchouameni and did not let the Pachuca forwards pass through easily which led them to take shots outside the box or look to score from set pieces.
Fran García: 7.5
An impressive outing for Fran who would be glad that he stepped up in a big final. Made clearances, interceptions, tackles and well-timed overlapping runs. A good passing percentage of 90%.
Eduardo Camavinga: 7.0
Seemed on the backfoot for a bit and was beaten by the Pachuca midfielders. But he still held his ground and did well to not let the ball pass through easily.
Fede Valverde: 7.5
Played a part in the opening goal of the match. Looked as solid and fresh as always. Easily broke the lines in the middle. Fabulous workrate both offensively and defensively.
Jude Bellingham: 8.0
Yet another outstanding performance from the Englishman. Absolutely brilliant. Played the pass to Vinicius which led to the first goal. Was up for any challenge even in dangerous spots and came out successful. Just a usual day at the office for him.
Rodrygo: 8.0
It was nice to see him keep his consistency and score for a second game running. Seems like he has finally found his feet and would be eager to continue this form.
Kylian Mbappe: 9.0
Arguably his best outing in a Real Madrid shirt so far. Returned to the stadium where he did not have fond memories but finally won a trophy – even if it were not as big as the World Cup. Combined well with the Brazilian duo and Jude Bellingham. Onwards and upwards from hereon.
Vinícius Júnior: 8.5
The Brazilian looked dangerous all night long and the way he set up Mbappe for the first goal showed his maturity and how much he has grown as a player in recent years. He is done for the year with yet another trophy – since the Brazilian is suspended for the next league match.
Substitutes:
Dani Ceballos: 6.5
Looked comfortable on the ball, did not overdo things and kept up his good form from the previous games.
Brahim Díaz: 7.0
Causes trouble for the Pachuca defence a few times. Played a key pass as well as created one big chance. A good burst of energy to come on in the final 15-20 minutes.
Luka Modric: 6.0
Came on to be the extra body in the midfield. Did his job with ease as always and watched the game out. Also became the club’s most decorated player ever.
Just 3 touches and 2 minutes on the pitch. Not enough time to warrant a rating.
