Paulo Fonseca overlooked Alex Jimenez in the early parts of the season, but now, he considers him to be an important player for AC Milan, according to reports.
In the summer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced that Jimenez would be the deputy to Theo Hernandez, but the Spaniard had to wait for this to be shown. Davide Bartesaghi and Filippo Terracciano were given chances before the star of the Futuro, leading to questions about the hierarchy.
Things have changed recently though, with Jimenez being offered several opportunities, and he has consistently impressed Fonseca.
Now, Matteo Moretto has reported that the Spaniard is seen as ‘important’ by Fonseca, especially with Theo’s performances often fluctuating. For this reason, his future has been ‘changed’ with both him and the club looking forward together.
It seemed a loan move could have been on the table, with chances infrequent, but now with Fonseca’s usage and faith in him, things will change for the better.
In fact, the club are even beginning to evaluate whether there will be a spot available for him in the Champions League squad, with the latest opportunity to make squad list changes around the corner, an opportunity could open up for him and the club.
