The New England Revolution have added another goalkeeper to their roster. The Revs have signed Henrich Ravas from the Polish top division. The 26 year old Ravas joins the Revs after 100 career first team games played between Widzew Lodz, FK Senica, Hartlepool United, and Gainsborough Trinity. In those 100 career games he has recorded 28 cleansheets for his clubs. Between 2016 and 2021 Ravas spent time within Derby County in England, never featuring for the full first team. Between 2022 and 2023 Ravas was called up a few times for the Slovakia National team, though never making his senior international debut.
Ravas now comes into MLS and New England where I would expect him to take over as the club’s starting goalkeeper. After selling Djordje Petrovic to Chelsea FC last year, the New England Revolution tried to find his replacement in Czech veteran Tomas Vaclik. Vaclik failed to make an appearance for the club and New England relied upon a combination of Jacob Jackson and Earl Edwards Jr. I expect the departure of Vaclik from the Revs this off-season, leaving the other three. With how New England has scouted and recruited goalkeepers over the last few years, I expect Ravas to at least be a stable enough goalkeeper within MLS.
