Ligue 2 side Paris FC have confirmed the signing of Mathieu Cafaro (27) from AS Saint-Étienne.

The capital side left it late with Le Parisien journalist Marc Mechenoua reporting that the club sent their official documents validating the arrival of the winger only two minutes before the transfer window “swung” shut in France.

Paris FC have been looking to strengthen their squad this winter as they make a bid for promotion to the top flight of French football. The club are currently second in the table – a spot that guarantees automatic promotion to Ligue 1.

Is Cafaro what Paris FC need to secure their promotion dream?

Cafaro has experience in the second tier having helped Saint-Étienne earn promotion last season via the playoffs. However, his opportunities with the Ligue 1 side looked to narrow following this transfer window as the club stocked up their options at right-wing.

Les Verts are currently in a battle to stay in the top flight and occupy the relegation playoff spot.
