We take a look at how Wayne Rooney's Plymouth side is shaping up for their midweek trip to Turf Moor

Plymouth Argyle will be looking to make it three wins from their last four games when they travel to Turf Moor on Tuesday night to face high-flying Burnley.

After a poor start to the season, Wayne Rooney has Plymouth performing, and recent wins over Sunderland and Luton Town mean that there is a feel-good factor around the club, and while the trip to Lancashire is set to be a tough test, the Pilgrims will be quietly confident that they can come away with a positive result.

Scott Parker's Burnley side will start as favourites given their current league position of fourth, but they failed to pick up all three points on Saturday against Oxford United, and Rooney will perhaps feel that a good result isn't out of the question with the momentum his side currently have.

With that in mind, here is the latest injury news ahead of the Pilgrims' trip to Turf Moor.

Darko Gyabi was replaced by Jordan Houghton in the 70th minute of Plymouth's 3-1 win over Luton Town on Friday night with a dead leg, but Rooney is hopeful that the on-loan Leeds United man will be fit enough to feature at Turf Moor.

Speaking to The Plymouth Herald, Argyle's boss said: "It was a dead leg from the first half, and especially when you go off at half-time they stiffen up, and it's hard to get going, although he didn't show any signs just before that when we get the second goal. He drove forwards, which is a real attribute of his, but he felt he couldn't continue after that, so we made a change."

Meanwhile, Conor Hazard will also miss out after undergoing ankle surgery after suffering an injury against Stoke at the end of August, and it looks likely that Daniel Grimshaw will continue between the sticks in Hazard's absence.

Meanwhile, there is guaranteed to be at least one change to Plymouth's starting XI with Michael Obafemi, who started the win over Luton, being ineligible for Tuesday's game as he's on loan from Burnley, and it could open the door for Ibrahim Cissoko to return to the starting XI after his mightily impressive cameo from the bench against the Hatters.

Other than Hazard, who is set to be a long-term absentee and Gyabi, who could return from his dead leg, Plymouth have a clean bill of health and Rooney has a strong squad to pick from on Tuesday night in Lancashire.

A positive result at Turf Moor would be a statement of intent from Plymouth

Plymouth aren't expected to get much from Turf Moor on Tuesday, but if they were able to come away with at least a point, it would make other sides in the division sit up and take notice.

After a shaky start, Rooney has turned things around at Home Park, but a trip to Burnley will show how far they've really come in the last couple of weeks.

Argyle are currently 16th, three points off the relegation zone, and it looks set to be an exciting campaign with the league looking far more open than it has done previously, with play-off places and promotion up for grabs.

After beating the likes of Sunderland and Luton in recent weeks, optimism is high at Home Park that Plymouth could enjoy a successful season, and another positive result on Tuesday night would be huge for them as they look to move up the table.
