In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Sevilla defender Juanlu Sanchez. It has been stated that Los Blancos could face competition in the form of Newcastle United in pursuit of the Spanish full-back.
Sanchez is enjoying a solid campaign at the Andalusian club as he has put in a series of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The 20-year-old has done well to pick up three assists but has failed to score a goal in 14 matches for Sevilla this season across all fronts.
The talented youngster has caught the eye in both halves based on his average of 3.1 tackles, 0.9 clearances, 0.7 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even been careful when distributing possession from the back as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.6% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for Real Madrid to win the race for Sanchez next year.

Sanchez is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well for his team. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well.
The Spanish whizkid can shoot the ball with power from long range and can create the odd chance for his teammates up top. He is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager.
We can expect Sanchez to bring more quality to Real Madrid‘s first XI. He is good enough to serve as an ideal, long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal at the Madrid club.
All in all, Sanchez would be a decent option for Los Blancos to consider in the upcoming winter transfer window or at the end of this campaign. Thus, Carlo Ancelotti would be wise to step up his pursuit to bring the Spanish prospect to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in 2024.
