Earlier in the month, it was reported that Arda Guler is unhappy at Real Madrid after struggling with a lack of game-time this season.

The Turk was supposed to be one of the beneficiaries of Real Madrid’s early injury-related crisis. But he has faced difficulties with game-time in recent times.

Carlo Ancelotti has even flagged Guler’s lack of defensive contributions as a key reason behind his decision to not him too often.

This led to speculation that Guler was re-considering his future at Real Madrid, ahead of the January transfer window.

Guler not thinking about Real Madrid exit

However, a recent report from AS has clarified that Arda Guler does not plan on leaving Real Madrid, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

This comes despite the fact that the attacking midfielder has endured a tough period in recent weeks with minutes being drip-fed by Ancelotti.

To put things into perspective, the former Fenerbahce starlet has featured in seven matches this season, but only three of them have come as starts.

However, it must be remembered that Luka Modric, too, had a slow start to his Real Madrid career before eventually becoming a top player.

One could expect Guler to have a similar trajectory as a player, especially if he can continue to impress whenever given the opportunity.

For now, the youngster is not thinking about an immediate exit and wants to keep fighting for a place in the team.

Working on his physical and defensive traits could be a good start, as far as the Turk is concerned.
