La Liga giants Real Madrid are increasingly hopeful of Lucas Vázquez marking his return to the pitch ahead of schedule.
That’s according to Blancos insider Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, who has on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Full-back Vázquez was for his part condemned to a spell on the sidelines earlier this month.
En route to Real’s four-goal La Liga drubbing of Osasuna, the Spanish international was one of three members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad forced into a premature departure from the action.
This came owing to a back problem.
The initial expectation was that Vázquez was set to be sidelined for a spell of around a month, a major source of concern for boss Ancelotti and his coaching staff with first-choice right-back Dani Carvajal already ruled out long-term.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Vázquez could yet mark his comeback sooner than expected.
As per The Athletic:
‘The club initially reported that Vazquez would be out for around a month, but various sources at Valdebebas have told The Athletic the extent of the injury is not as bad as they thought — and his camp says he will try to return in time for the match against Liverpool (November 27th).’
