Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing up a late January transfer window loan move for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi.
Unai Emery’s side are in the market for defensive reinforcements late on in this window, with the team arguably a little short of depth at the back after the departure of Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce.
That’s according to a report from Football Insider, who state that Blues ace Disasi is one of Villa’s main targets, while there’s also some mention of a possible move for AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.
Disasi could be a decent option for Villa, even though he’s mostly struggled to impress during his time at Chelsea so far.
The Frenchman previously shone at his former club Monaco, and it might be that the move to Stamford Bridge was just a bit too much of a step up for him.

Villa could be doing smart business if they take Disasi on loan, as they wouldn’t be committing to spending big money on him if they found that he once again struggled with the demands of Premier League football.
Chelsea will no doubt hope they can find someone to take Disasi off their hands, as the 26-year-old simply doesn’t look like someone who’s going to work his way up to being first choice again any time soon.
Enzo Maresca has other good options at the back, such as Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo, while Trevoh Chalobah is also back at the club after being recalled from his loan at Crystal Palace.
Chelsea might also want to get Disasi off their books soon, ideally in a permanent sale, as it would help fund their interest in the likes of Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen.
After some poor form recently, CFC perhaps look like they still need more work done in the transfer market before they establish themselves as genuine title contenders again.
