According to Football Insider (h/t The Yorkshire Post), Hull City are interested in a potential loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur starlet Marcel Lavinier. This comes after the 21-year-old rejected a new contract at Spurs.
Lavinier joined the Spurs academy in 2020 for a free transfer. A Chelsea youth product, he had spent four years at the Blues. The right-back has now rejected a chance to extend his stay at the north London club.
The Under-21 player enjoyed a fruitful last season. He recorded four assists in 21 games in all competitions for the Tottenham Hotspur Under-23 side. But he could now be on his way out of the club.

A right-back by trade, he is capable of being deployed anywhere in the back. Such a versatile player could be useful to Antonio Conte in the long season ahead.
Emerson Royal has been displaying good performances for the past few months. Spurs have also bought in Djed Spence this summer. With both these players in their starting 20s, they could play for Tottenham for a long time.
Such established and experienced players could hamper the progress of players like Lavinier into the first team. But that does not mean he cannot have a future at the club. There is tough competition, no doubt, but he has the potential to see off such competition.
The 21-year-old could sign a new deal and go out on loan to get the desired game time. Spurs, on their part, will also be wise to offer better terms to their young prospect. It would be a shame if Lavinier joins another rival after running down his contract here.
It remains to be seen if the youngster is offered better terms or is let go. Whatever decision the coaches and management make, one will hope that is beneficial to the club.
Hull City are currently sixth in the Championship after amassing eight points from five games and the Tigers could be a good place for the Spurs starlet to go and earn his stripes at. Currently, they have the English duo of Josh Emmanuel (25) and Lewie Coyle (26) to play in the right-back position.
