The Mexico National Team have reportedly been handed a huge blow ahead of their quarter-final fixture against South Korea with striker Henry Martín doubtful to play due to injury.
Martín picked up a knock during Mexico’s clash with South Africa last Wednesday after receiving a hard tackle on his ankle from Katlego Mohamme.
While the injury wasn’t immediately serious, it appears as though some issues have lingered.
According to a report from journalist Alejandro Orvañanos with MARCA Claro, the 28-year-old was subsequently left out of Friday’s training session.
With Mexico kicking off against South Korea on Saturday, it’s a race against time for Martín to get back to full fitness.
Fans will have to wait until the startling line-up is released to learn the striker’s fate.
Any serious or long-term injury would also cause headaches for Club América back in Mexico.
