FC Barcelona may have unearthed their next generational superstar. At just 17, Lamine Yamal is no longer simply the best young talent in world football, he’s quickly becoming one of the sport’s most electrifying figures and arguably the finest in his position.

Lamine has been instrumental on the right wing this season. He has always been a potent chance-creator but in recent weeks and over the past month, the Spaniard has added goalscoring to his locker, which has made him even more dangerous.

18 goals and 25 assists in 54 appearances at the age of just 17 is quite incredible and he is just getting started. If he continues developing at a similar rate, the numbers next season might be even more significant for the youngster.

As per Fichajes, Lamine Yamal’s new contract at Barcelona, which he is expected to sign once he turns 18, is set to increase his gross income per year to around €40million per season. This will also include objective-based increases starting from the second season and 10% of the player’s image rights to Barcelona.

The agreement could either be valid for 5 or 6 years, something that hasn’t yet been determined. Lamine will go from earning around €1.6million net per season to around €15million net per season, to start things of with his new contract.

Objective-based bonuses

There are also objectives-based bonuses tied into his contract and if all goes according to plan and Lamine develops as expected, his salary could reach around €25million per net by his third year into the new contract.
