The war of attrition between Roma and Inter regarding Frattesi will continue until the end of the January window. His agent Giuseppe Riso keeps pushing for his departure. He and the Giallorossi have reached an agreement in principle on a four-and-a-half-year contract, Corriere dello Sport informs.
On the other hand, the capital club has let it be known that they are unwilling to offer as much as the Nerazzurri request, €40/45M. The wave of injuries at the position don’t facilitate the talks. Hakan Calhanoglu will sit out multiple matches, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is banged up as well.
The talks between Roma and Inter could heat up closer to deadline day, as Simone Inzaghi needs Frattesi for the upcoming fixtures, especially the Champions League ones. The gaffer clarified that the midfielder is being managed because he’s not 100 percent either.
The Giallorossi could do the trick and come close to the valuation through a convoluted formula that comprises a loan with a sizeable initial fee, an obligation to buy, robust add-ons, and the percentage of a future sale.
Napoli recently met with his representative too, but La Lupa is clearly in the lead.
The absences don’t help the suitors, but things seem to be moving in the right direction. He has stopped just short of publicly asking out, and the buyers might need that for the negotiation to enter its homestretch. La Beneamata getting linked to some midfielders, which hasn’t started yet, would be a telling indication.
