Roma are preparing to take a decisive step towards the construction of the new stadium in Pietralata.

The final project, initially expected for April 21, could be delivered in the next few days, officially opening the political and administrative process that will lead, in the club’s intentions, to the first match in the new Giallorossi home by 2028, reports Corriere dello Sport.

The American management team of the Friedkin Group has returned to Trigoria, a clear sign of the strategic importance of the project.

Among those present are Eric Williamson, Ana Dunkel and Ed Shipley, a now familiar face in club-related operations.

The absence of president Dan Friedkin, who has not been at the Olimpico since March 2024, could end on the occasion of the last home match against Milan: an event that, according to rumors, could also become the stage to announce the new coach.

The dossier on the stadium represents the fundamental step towards obtaining final approval from the city institutions.

This time, unlike previous attempts, the project seems to have the concrete support of the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, an element that gives hope.

However, even with political support, it will be necessary to face a long bureaucratic process, between urban agreements to be signed and technical times for the opening of the construction sites.

The goal remains ambitious: to inaugurate the stadium in 2028.

But to meet this deadline, punctuality in the delivery of the documentation and rapid times in the examination by the municipal technical offices will be needed. Only then can the path that will lead Rome to finally equip itself with a modern and functional property facility begin.
