The games have begun in the international break: a look at the results so far in the Nations League and AFCON qualification.
The third international break of the 2024/25 season is under way. From a Frankfurt perspective, it kicked off with two matches on the African continent. For Farès Chaibi and Ellyes Skhiri, the fifth matchday in qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations called.
The crowd at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium witnessed a dramatic encounter, including a last-minute winner, as Skhiri’s Tunisia side triumphed 3-2 against Madagascar to remain top of Group A. Ali Abdi sealed the points for the Tunisians in the third minute of stoppage time. Skhiri’s night was over after 64 minutes.
No goals in Malabo
Algeria took on Equatorial Guinea at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo. After 90 minutes it finished 0-0, with Chaibi not involved. The Fennec Foxes still have a commanding lead at the top of Group E with 13 points.
Arthur Theate in action against Italy.
Meanwhile, Arthur Theate was in UEFA Nations League action for Belgium, who met Italy in Brussels. The defender started and played 71 minutes, but it was the visitors who came away with a narrow 1-0 win. The Red Devils are third in League A Group 2 with four points.
