Samu Omorodion has opened up on the speculation surrounding his future and insists his focus is on Atletico Madrid.
The 20-year-old has been a transfer target for Premier League clubs after an impressive campaign on loan at Alaves that saw the forward score eight goals in 34 La Liga appearances.
Chelsea submitted an offer in the region of €40m for the highly-rated Spain u-21 international earlier in the summer but saw their approach rejected by Atletico Madrid.
West Ham have also been credited with interest in signing Omorodion, who will represent Spain at this summer’s Olympic football tournament in Paris.
The forward has addressed the uncertainty surrounding his future and said his focus remains on Atletico, insisting the Spanish side have placed trust in him to perform.
“Other clubs want me? My focus is on Atlético,” Omorodion told Marca.
“I noticed that the people of Atlético supported me a lot, I also received a lot of support from the club, they told me to stay calm, that they trusted me.
“That is very gratifying for a player.”
Omorodion said he does his best to ignore transfer speculation and reiterated his determination to focus on football.
“Whether you want it or not, in the end you find out because it appears everywhere, your family members, your loved ones tell you about it… I always say to move on from that because only I know the truth and in the end I move on from the subject. I have people who work for me and speak on my behalf. I’m calm on that topic, I try to isolate myself from everything because if not, it’s a lot of stress for me, since in the end I’m young.”
