Spurs Legends prevailed 6-2 against Milan Glorie in the charity match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the crowd got to see Andrea Pirlo do what he does best.
As happens every now and then, Milan Fondazione organised a charity game for the international break, this time with Tottenham. It took place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today and while it ended up being a convincing win for the home side, the main cause was heavily supported.
Indeed, the proceeds will support the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and Fondazione Milan in the Sport For Change programme. Milan Glorie lined up with the following players: Dida, Laursen, Simic, Roque Junior, Cafu, Giunti, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Serginho, Fuser, Oliveira.
The likes of Fiori, Borriello, Zaccardo and Jankulovski came off the bench in the second half, at which point Spurs Legends were already up 5-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Robbie Keane. Spurs did have a slightly younger XI, so this really wasn’t surprising.
Milan Glorie improved the numbers a little in the second half as Zaccardo slotted one home from close range, before Andrea Pirlo found the back of the net with a trademark free-kick (see both goals below). The final score was 6-2 as the referee blew his whistle for full-time.
