Despite letting go of some promising young players in the past, Barcelona almost always ensures some special clauses are applied. Such clauses often help the club out in the future, even if there is not much immediate gain. One particular type of clause that Barcelona really seems to like is the sell-on clause.

Once applied, this clause allows the Catalan club to get a portion of the transfer fee acquired by any given player’s new club if they offload the player moving forward. Currently, there are many former Barcelona players who have such a clause applied to their current deals.

Moreover, with the club needing sales to even consider signings players in this ongoing winter transfer window, even a little revenue can go a long way. Ultimately, however, that still depends on which players have such a sell-on clause attached and whether or not they can even generate any amount right now.

Thus, Mundo Deportivo has highlighted and pointed out thirteen such players who have a sell-on clause in place. Any potential sales for these players will ultimately end up benefiting Barcelona itself in the future.

Nico Gonzalez (Porto):

The Spanish midfielder currently has a 40% sell-on clause attached to his current contract with Porto, and with Manchester City reportedly interested in the player, his active €60 million release clause could give Barcelona a rather hefty piece of the pie.

Mika Marmol (UD Las Palmas):

With Barcelona maintaining 50% of the rights to the Spanish defender, any sale considering his €10 million release clause could land the Catalan giants a rather noticeable injection of funds.

Francisco Trincao (Sporting CP):

Both a €25 million buy-back clause and a 50% sell-on clause are attached to the winger, making him a lucrative jackpot for Barça if another club opts to pursue him.

Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice):

The Frenchman is currently on loan at English club West Ham United from Ligue 1 side Nice, and there is a €40 million obligation to buy at the end of the season. Thus, Barcelona just has to wait to get their share of that fee.

Alex Collado (Real Betis):

With a 30% sell-on clause attached, Alex Collado is another player who could potentially grant Barcelona a nice bonus if he ends up being sold in the future.

Junior Firpo (Leeds United):

Barça currently maintain a 20% sell-on clause with the fullback, and a future sale could be of use to the Catalan club.

Carles Alena (Getafe):

The Catalan giants have a 50% sell-on clause attached to Carles Alena, and that could be a profitable future sale for the club as well.

Mikayil Faye (Rennes):

Linked to the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and other sides, the Senegalese defender is currently at French outfit Rennes and the Catalan giants retain a 30% sell-on clause in his contract.

Ilaix Moriba (RB Leipzig):

With a 10% sell-on clause attached to the player’s current deal, he could also be a profitable option for Barcelona due to his solid ongoing stint at Celta Vigo on loan.

Riqui Puig (LA Galaxy):

Currently in the MLS over in the United States of America, Riqui Puig has a 50% sell-on clause attached to his current deal and that makes him a promising prospect as well should a major transfer involve him in the future.

Ferran Jutgla (Club Brugge):

The forward was purchased by the Belgian side for €5 million in 2022, but his former side still retains a 10% right to the revenue for any future sale.

Abde Ezzalzouli (Real Betis):

He transferred to Real Betis in 2023, and Barça continue to retain the rights to 50% of any future sale of his.

Oscar Mingueza (Celta Vigo):

Barcelona currently has a 50% sell-on clause attached to him, and his €20 million release clause could see half of it go to the Catalan club if another interested club triggers it.
