His injury setback came shortly after his £30 million move from Burnley, and Spurs fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on his return.

After making only three Premier League appearances, Odobert’s season took a turn for the worse when he suffered a hamstring injury during a Carabao Cup match against Coventry in September.

Although he made a brief return to action in the Europa League against AZ Alkmaar in late October, he aggravated the injury, necessitating surgery.

According to Football London, Tottenham confirmed the surgery and reassured fans that the young Frenchman would continue to be monitored closely during his recovery.

Odobert’s surgery, which was carried out at The Princess Grace Hospital in London, required a substantial recovery period.

The club’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, made it clear that Odobert would be sidelined for a significant portion of the season.

Despite the lengthy recovery time, Odobert remains focused on getting back to full fitness. He posted an encouraging update on social media, sharing a picture of himself wearing boots and kit at Tottenham's Hotspur Way training complex.

This update suggests that he has started working outdoors, marking the first step in his journey to returning to full training.

While this is a positive sign for the young winger, Odobert’s return is expected to take time, especially considering the setbacks faced by other players like Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies, who have also struggled with hamstring injuries this season.

Tottenham will be cautious with Odobert’s rehabilitation to avoid further complications, particularly after his previous setbacks.

What does the future hold for Wilson Odobert?

Despite the injury woes, Odobert showed flashes of his potential during his brief appearances earlier in the season.

His £30 million price tag means Tottenham will be eager to see him fulfil his promise once he is fully fit.

The club is likely to take a measured approach to his recovery, ensuring he is not rushed back into action too soon. Supporters can look forward to his return, hoping that the young winger can provide the spark Tottenham need once he is back to his best.

Odobert’s journey back to fitness will be an important one, and it will be interesting to see how he performs when he finally makes his full return to the squad.
