More UEFA Women’s Champions League action continued on Thursday with some big clubs in action.
Here is what went down.
Scorers: Walsh 15′, Graham Hansen 34′, Paralluelo 54′, 60′, Pina 73′, Torrejon 75′, Wik 85′ (OG)
Title holders Barcelona let the goals fly once again with a seven-goal showing against FC RosengĂĄrd.
It was a night to forget for the visitors as they faced a staggering 43 shots in Spain, 22 of which were on target.
Keira Walsh’s deflected shot opened the scoring before Caroline Graham Hansen picked up on Aitana Bonmati’s back-heel flick.
Up-and-coming star Salma Paralluelo later secured a six-minute brace with a controlled shot in the box and stabbed home another before more misery was piled on RosengĂĄrd.
Claudia Pina volleyed home a fifth inside the box, Marta Torrejon headed home another, and Jessica Wik’s own goal was the lucky seventh.
The Spanish side have four wins from four and therefore qualified for the knockouts. RosengĂĄrd, meanwhile, sit bottom with zero points.
Scorers: Majri 6′ Hegerbeg 13′ (P); Kielland 34′, Gaupset 90+4′
Lyon were left stunned by Brann after some controversy allowed the hosts to pull off a stunning draw.
The record holders opened the scoring in the blink of an eye when Amel Majri finished off a slick team move.
The lead quickly doubled when Ada Hegerbeg extended her all-time scoring record from the penalty spot.
Afterward, however, luck favoured Brann. The hosts cut the deficit in half when Justine Kvaleng Kielland blasted home a goal-of-the-season contender from range into the far right corner.
Lyon then controversially went a player down as Lindsey Horan was shown a straight red card after appearing to challenge a referee’s decision.
Brann sensed an equaliser, and made goalkeeper Christiane Endler make two dying saves. Their player advantage eventually proved too much and Signe Gaupset bundled home an equaliser.
Lyon still qualified for the knockouts but their perfect run ended. Brann, meanwhile, sit second in Group B.
Scorers: Reuteler 28′; Raysla 74′
The points were split between these two sides at Deutsche Bank Park as true chances were scarce across 90 minutes.
Eintracht Frankfurt grabbed the lead through Geraldine Reuteler when her low drive inside the box found the net.
And the German side held on for the majority of the match until Benfica finally found their touch.
Nycole Raysla ensured the points were split when she stabbed home cross into the box on a counter-attack.
Drama ensured in the dying moments when goalkeeper Lena Pauels stopped Laura Freigang’s injury-time penalty to keep things level.
The Portuguese side sitting second and the German side third in Group A.
Additionally, Slavia Praha’s clash with St. Pölten was postponed following a shooting in Prague.
