Wissam Ben Yedder in talks with Montpellier following rehab | OneFootball

Free agent Wissam Ben Yedder (34) is in talks with struggling Ligue 1 side Montpellier over a move, according to a report from L’Equipe. Ben Yedder has been without a club since June 30 and the expiry of his AS Monaco contract. Since then, the France international has been embroiled in several cases of sexual misconduct. Ben Yedder was notably handed a two-year suspended prison sentence after being found guilty of sexual assault while intoxicated.

The outlet understands that Ben Yedder’s judicial supervision does not forbid him from playing at a professional level again. The former Sevilla centre-forward reportedly went into rehab in Nice and joined a specialized center to return to match fitness. L’Equipe understands that Ben Yedder is in talks with several Ligue 1 clubs with Montpellier being one of them. La Paillade are currently bottom-placed in the league and will play Olympique Lyonnais this Saturday.
