Wolves beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Premier League with Bruno Fernandes getting sent off for the third time this season. Here’s five things we learned:

If Vitor Pereira is to be successful, Matheus Cunha will be key

Vitor Pereira took charge of his first home game tonight, after a 3-0 away win against Leicester in his first match. Cunha got on the score sheet then, and did the same tonight against United. He was instrumental throughout the game and Amorim’s men couldn’t deal with him. Pereira has gotten off to an excellent start as manager.

Bruno Fernandes let his team down

The Red Devils were struggling in the game, but when Fernandes was sent off in the 47th minute it really signalled disaster. Cunha scored 11 minutes later, and United never looked like recovering. Fernandes has been sent off three times this season, which as captain, is simply unacceptable.

Man United lack creativity

They have been bailed out a few times recently by Amad Diallo but there is a serious lack of creativity amongst their other forwards. And with a midfield duo as defensive-minded as Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte they found it very difficult to create chances.

Everything United attempted went through Amad

The 22-year-old has only recently been given a chance in the team, but already looks like one of the most senior members of the side. His teammates were always looking to him on the pitch, to the point where they were perhaps over-reliant on the winger, and couldn’t create much else.

Hojlund struggled alone up top

For much of the game Rasmus Hojlund was isolated up-front and couldn’t get into the game. He is clearly still finding his place in Amorim’s system and isn’t comfortable as yet. The goals have been lacking so far in the Portuguese manager’s tenure and he will have to look for solutions.
