Aston Villa welcome West Ham to the Midlands this evening as the two clubs commence their FA Cup campaigns.
Unai Emery will be hoping for success in this competition as he looks to turn impressive progress with Aston Villa into silverware. The Villans secured Champions League qualification last season but have not won a major trophy since the 1996 League Cup.
Villa will wear a commemorative black kit for the occasion as the club continue their 150th anniversary celebrations.
Jhon Duran completes his three-match ban for the home side, though Morgan Rogers is back from suspension. Elsewhere, John McGinn joins centre-back duo Pau Torres and Diego Carlos on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in the win over Leicester.
West Ham arrive with fresh optimism and a new direction. Graham Potter will take charge of the Londoners for the first time after his appointment on Thursday. The former Chelsea and Brighton boss has replaced Julen Lopetegui after a poor start to the campaign.
Potter is light on options in the final third with Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen out. Lukasz Fabianski remains sidelined due to concussion protocols, while Emerson Palmieri is a doubt.

Aston Villa are eighth in the Premier League table, though remain just four points from the Champions League places. Leon Bailey’s goal secured a 2-1 win over Leicester last time out as The Villans returned to winning ways. That result was welcomed, after recent defeats to top-four rivals Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.
Villa are unbeaten in their last 10 games on home soil, while Emery’s side hold the upper hand in recent meetings with West Ham. Unbeaten in the last four encounters, Villa won 4-1 the last time the sides met at Villa Park.

Julen Lopetegui was dismissed as West Ham manager this week after a poor start to his reign at the London Stadium. Heavy defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City brought a conclusion to his reign, with West Ham mired in 14th in the Premier League table.
Just seven points above the relegation zone, only three teams have conceded more than their 39 goals this season. West Ham have shipped nine goals in their last two games and Potter must find a formula to improve that record.
Jhon Duran came off the bench to snatch Aston Villa a late win at West Ham on the Premier League’s opening weekend.
The Colombian collected Jacob Ramsey’s pass before firing home on 79 minutes, having been subject of transfer interest from West Ham earlier in the summer. Amadou Onana had marked his debut for Aston Villa with the opening goal inside four minutes, as the Belgian met Youri Tielemans’ corner to head home.
West Ham levelled from the spot, with Lucas Paqueta converting after Tomas Soucek was brought down by Matty Cash. However, Duran – as he has so often in a Villa shirt this season – was the difference from the bench.
Aston Villa: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Maatsen; Barkley, Onana; Bailey, Buendia, Ramsey; Watkins.
West Ham: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Cresswell; Soucek, Rodriguez; Kudus, Paqueta, Summerville; Fullkrug.
Tim Robinson has been confirmed as the referee.
The game will be broadcast on ITV 1 to a UK audience.
