A deal for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford to leave the Old Trafford club before the end of the ongoing January transfer window is looking increasingly difficult, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.
The Red Devils academy graduate is not in the plans of head coach Ruben Amorim right now and the talk of a move has been driven by him.
Rashford is not short of suitors, with Borussia Dortmund very keen on getting a deal done, but the finances involved have slowed things down, and the Bundesliga club would require Man United to contribute a substantial percentage of his wages for talks to continue and get concluded.
With 138 goals to his name in 426 appearances for the Red Devils, the 27-year-old had been a crucial part of the team under different managers until now.
He has fallen out of favour and missed their last nine games across all competitions, and it is safe to say he has played his last game for Man United as Amorim has moved on and no longer sees him as part of his team.
Rashford will also have to move on and seek greener pastures, but he needs to lower his demands for a deal elsewhere to materialise.
There are just two weeks left in the January transfer window and the England international will need to make up his mind very soon regarding his future if he wants to return to the pitch anytime soon.
Remaining at Man United beyond this window could frustrate him as getting back into the team could prove very tricky going by what Amorim has been saying whenever being questioned about the forward.
It is in the best interest of everyone to part ways this month, and Rashford has to ensure that happens after admitting he is open to a fresh challenge at another club.
