Arne Slot once again trialled an interesting new formation for Liverpool against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night.
On the evening Xabi Alonso returned to Anfield, Liverpool were very much looking to continue their good momentum this season.

Slot made an interesting team selection ahead of the night with Luis Diaz coming in to play as a no.9 - almost as a false nine - similar to Dominik Szoboszlai's role against Brighton.
But the new look Liverpool attack didn't reap many rewards, particularly in the first-half with Leverkusen proving to be the tough opponents many expected.
In the end, there was a complete turnaround in the second-half as Liverpool took the lead and went on a quick rampage with Luis Diaz taking charge to lead Liverpool to an utter thrashing.
