Santiago Gimenez believes that his brace against Bologna was the reward for the sacrifices he has made up to this point.

It was widely reported in the build-up to the game that Gimenez would get the nod to start up front in the Serie A game at San Siro tonight, but in the end Sergio Conceicao opted to field Luka Jovic from minute one.

The Serbian was taken off and the Mexican took his place, and he could hardly have made a better impact. He scored a brace including the equalising goal in the 73rd minute and the one that made sure of the three points in the 92nd minute.

It certainly provides Conceicao with a dilemma in view of next week’s Coppa Italia final against the same opponent. Gimenez spoke to Sky and DAZN after the full-time whistle, and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.
