Chelsea will hope to bounce back from their defeat to Aston Villa when they host Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The Blues have been on a poor run of form which has seen them win just two of the last ten games in the league, and have slipped from second to seventh position.

Recent form

Southampton have won just one Premier League game in 2025 and have lost eight of the last nine league games.

Chelsea have lost three of the last four in the league and the last three games in all competitions.

What’s been said?

Enzo Maresca on his side’s bad run: “The identity is there. At this moment, it is just a matter of results. I have the feeling that by winning one, we can have a good run again and we build a good momentum again. This is what the players need.

“In the last seven, eight, 10 games, the huge difference has been especially inside the box – in both boxes. Apart from in the Brighton match, we always create chances, we almost always score.

“So the difference has been inside the box. We need to be defensively more strong and more clinical when we get the chance.”

Ivan Juric: “They lost their last game but there is a huge difference between us. They are an incredible team with incredible players. They have had two bad results but they are great, so we have to play well.”
