Liverpool host Newcastle United in the Premier League tonight aiming to move a step closer to title success.
Arne Slot’s side extended their lead in the title race to 11 points with an impressive 2-0 win at Manchester City on Sunday. Liverpool capitalised on a slip from nearest challengers Arsenal with a statement win at the defending champions.
The Reds next face a tough test against a Newcastle team chasing Champions League qualification. Eddie Howe’s side edged our top-four rivals Nottingham Forest at the weekend, securing a 4-3 in at St James’ Park.
Newcastle are sixth in the table, two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand.
The clash is a precursor to next month’s Carabao Cup final between the teams. The sides go head-to-head for the first silverware of the season at Wembley on March 16th.
Arne Slot has confirmed that Alexis Mac Allister is available despite suffering bruising to his face at Manchester City. Cody Gakpo could also return to the starting side after an appearance off the bench at the Etihad.
Conor Bradley is ruled out with a muscular issue, while Joe Gomez’s season could be over after undergoing hamstring surgery.
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz.
Liverpool host Newcastle in the Premier League on Wednesday February 26th 2025. Kick-off at Anfield is 20:15 GMT.
Liverpool vs Newcastle will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and Discovery+ UK.
