Manchester City defender releases statement featuring message on club future | OneFootball

A statement has been issued by one of Manchester City’s highly-rated defensive talents currently plying his trade in European football on-loan from the Etihad Stadium.

That concerns the future of Juma Bah, who was brought into the Manchester City ecosystem during the most recent January transfer window having impressed in Spanish football with Real Valladolid.

Bah became one of six arrivals into the Manchester City squad list during the winter market, but was the only player not to arrive directly into Pep Guardiola’s senior squad, instead joining French side RC Lens on loan for the rest of the season.

It is widely believed that City utilised their strong relations with the French club following the successful negotiation to bring in Uzbek international defender Abdukodir Khusanov into the side just weeks earlier.

Since then, Juma Bah has been a standout performer for the club in Ligue 1, and many are already discussing just how soon it could be before the Sierra Leone international makes his debut under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

In a statement to RC Lens supporters on his official Instagram channel, Bah confirmed to fans that a decision on his future would be taken alongside his representatives in due course, following the conclusion of his short-term loan agreement.

“To our amazing fans and the entire RC Lens family, as we close out another season I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support, passion, and energy that has fuelled our journey and we’re honoured to have you alongside us,” he said.

“Despite the ups and downs, we’ve shown glimpses of our potential and I’m excited about the progress we’ve made, I’m proud of every single player, coach, and staff member for their dedication and hard work,” he added.

“To our fans, your voice, chants, and cheers have been the soundtrack to our season. Your loyalty and commitment inspire us to keep pushing forward. As we look ahead to the off-season, we’re already working hard to build on our strengths and address areas for improvement.

“We have high hopes for the future and I’m confident my agents would be able, together, to make the proper decision for next season. Thank you again for an incredible season! Let’s keep the momentum going and I hope next season even better Insha Allah.

Some previous reports have suggested that Juma Bah may be granted the opportunity to experience life with Manchester City over the course of the summer, when the Premier League side travel to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Guardiola is expected to bring an extended squad list to the tournament, and while taking the matches as seriously as he possibly can, the Catalan is believed to be eyeing the camp across the Atlantic as a pre-season style preparation for the new season.

Manchester City currently have three games on their Club World Cup agenda, with their group stage consisting of matches against Italy’s Juventus, Morocco’s Wydad AC, and the United Arab Emirates’ Al Ain.
