Luis Enrique issued a message to his side’s critics this season ahead of Paris-St Germain’s Champions League final.
The French champions take on Inter Milan on Saturday night aiming to win their first ever Champions League title.
It would cap off a memorable run in the competition so far, having knocked out Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal on their route to the final.
And asked about his side’s attacking harmony ahead of the game, Enrique responded: “We’ve had this harmony since the get-go.
“Maybe it’s just something you guys didn’t want to see.
“I am the same person since the get go, since last season, nothing has changed. They [the players] always play with the glass half-full. I play to their strengths, try to get them to improve individually.”
Inter, meanwhile, got past Barcelona in the semi-finals of the competition to reach their second final in three years.
“[Inter] are a well-oiled machine,” Enrique said when asked about his side’s opponents.
“When they don’t have the ball, they defend the ball very well. We are going to try and play to our strengths, where we think we are best.
“I want to ensure my team doesn’t let the emotions get the better of them. What makes us as a team, and what I want to share with my boys, is that our journey has been difficult, a long and winding road. I think we are ready, and I hope we can get it.”
The Spaniard also recognises how important winning the Champions League would be for PSG, adding: “I remember at my presentation, that I said the most important trophy missing from Paris Saint-Germain was the Champions League.
“This means there is extra pressure, because there are so many expectations around the team. We have belief, self-confidence, and if we got here playing in a certain way, we should continue along that path.”
