The legendary striker enjoyed an unbeaten four-game run as interim manager
Ruud van Nistelrooy has sent an emotional and heartfelt message to everyone at Manchester United after leaving the club for a second time.
The former striker, who scored 150 goals in 219 appearances in his time as a player at Old Trafford, departed following Ruben Amorim’s arrival, which came alongside several of his own coaches.
Van Nistelrooy had initially been appointed as Erik ten Hag’s assistant in the summer, but stepped in after his countryman’s dismissal in late October.
The Dutchman won three and drew one of his games, meaning he has the best win ratio in club history.
He also bonded with the fans as he did as a player, which he made note of in his message, which he shared across social media platforms.
Van Nistelrooy and United’s hopes of a return to the glory days start on Sunday November 24 at Portman Road, when the Amorim era kicks off with a clash away at Ipswich Town.
