Manchester United have reportedly identified Fiorentina bomber Moise Kean as their latest transfer target to bolster the attacking department.

The Red Devils are on the cusp of securing an agreement with Matheus Cunha, but they’re still searching the market for an out-and-out centre-forward who can be an upgrade over the misfiring Ramus Hojlund.

In recent months, the Premier League giants have been linked with a plethora of profiles, including Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.

Nevertheless, both remain pricey acquisitions that the Reds might struggle to lure. Hence, they could reportedly opt for a slightly cheaper alternative who has been earning the plaudits this season.

According to Foot Mercato, United have added Kean to their shortlist, as the 25-year-old has impressed the club’s directors with his phenomenal displays this season.

The Italy international is no stranger to the Premier League, having signed for Everton in the summer of 2019 following his meteoric breakthrough at Juventus.

Kean was perhaps too young at the time, so his impact at Goodison Park was limited. Nevertheless, he found more success during his loan spell at Paris Saint-Germain in 2020/21 when he played alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, before returning to Juventus in the summer of 2021 as a late replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who sealed a return to Old Trafford at the time.

Kean’s rise & Fall

The striker endured three underwhelming campaigns in Turin, failing to recapture the magic of his original stint with the Bianconeri. Last season, he failed to score a single goal throughout an injury-riddled campaign.

Nevertheless, Kean has been enjoying a great revival at Fiorentina after sealing a €13 million transfer last summer. He has thus far scored 23 goals in all competitions.

In addition to his clinical touch in front of goal, the Italian is renowned for his astonishing physical strength which allows him to shield the wall, as some defenders found it impossible to outmuscle.

Kean’s contract with Fiorentina is valid until June 2029, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €40 million.
