“We're not satisfied with the result. Even though we didn’t have an outstanding first half, we still created the much clearer chances overall," said the 36-year-old.
“Naturally, we had envisioned securing three points at home, but the first half simply wasn’t good enough. We'll see how important this single point might become later on. Nevertheless, one positive we take away is that we were once again very solid defensively today. That's crucial, especially at this stage of the season.”
"Now we head to Berlin, looking to build on our performance in the second half, make a few adjustments, improve, and push for another three points. We’ll do everything we can to squeeze the maximum out of the remaining three matches. Then we’ll see what it’s ultimately enough for at the end of the season.”
On Oliver Burke, who will leave Bremen at the end of the season, Werner added that: “He’s giving his all, had one or two moments out there today as well. It's a pity that one was probably just offside. We’re going to need everyone until the final matchday."
"Every player who’s here can earn their place through their performance and attitude. We’re still playing for something important. Burkey will have his role to play, too.”
