Jhon Duran in London for medical test as Aston Villa exit nears | OneFootball

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is all set to leave the club to join Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in the January transfer window.

Villa were reluctant to lose any of their strikers in the winter transfer window, and they rejected a bid from West Ham United already for Duran.

However, Al Nassr submitted an offer in the region of €77 million fixed fee plus add-ons, and the player has accepted a long-term deal.

Fabrizio Romano claims that documents are being prepared, and the Villa striker is expected to undergo his medical today.

Villa boss Unai Emery said after the win against Celtic: “If Jhon Durán is leaving, it is good for us because they are paying good money… we have developed good players in two years and are getting a good offer”.

“I told you after West Ham, I want Jhon here. But what does he want?”.

Romano has shared fresh update today. He says that Duran is currently in London with his agent and the Saudi delegation for medical tests as a new Al Nassr player.

They will now fly to Saudi Arabia as planned. The 21-year-old striker has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season.

Romano wrote: “Jhon Durán, in London with his agent and also Saudi delegation for medical tests as new Al Nassr player.

“Al Nassr and Villa are checking all contracts for €77m deal with add-ons. Right after, Durán will fly to Saudi Arabia as planned to play next to Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Losing Duran will be a blow for Villa, but they are getting a huge money from his sale. It is important for Villa to spend wisely and bolster several areas of the pitch.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have submitted an offer to sign Villa striker Ollie Watkins, but the bid was immediately rejected. It has been suggested that Villa have no intentions to sell him, and they will continue to reject further offers.
